Wine Ice Cream Recipe

Those hot summer days are approaching and it is about time to start gathering up some tasty treat recipes to help you and guests cool off during gatherings, celebrations, or even just hanging out at home and relaxing.
What better type of treat to enjoy on a hot summer day then wine ice cream.
Yep, you heard me right, WINE ICE CREAM.
I have the recipe for you today and I know it will be a total hit next time you have one of your girlfriends over.
So go grab that bottle of wine, we have some cookin' to do!

What You Need:
One bottle of Zinfandel (750 ml.)
1 Tbs. of Juniper Berries
4 or 5 Star Anise
1 1/2 cups of milk (whole)
1 cup of white sugar

What You Do:
Mix your wine, berries, and star anise in a sauce pan and bring to a slow boil
After the mixture comes to a boil reduce heat and simmer until there is aprox 1 cup of liquid left in your pan.
Pour the mixture into a glass bowl, cover, and refrigerated over night so the spices and wine combine well.
The same day you create the wine/spice mix, warm the milk and sugar in a separate pan and stir well until sugar is dissolved.
Take the pan off the heat after the sugar dissolved and place it in a glass bowl and cover it. Next, refrigerate until the next morning until super duper cold!
When your wine mixture and milk mixture is super cold first strain your wine and combine the strained wine with the sugar milk.
Place the mixture in an Ice Cream Machine (click the link for a great deal!)
and follow manufacturers instructions.
After done in the machine, sit back, relax, and enjoy your wine ice cream.
Also enjoy the look on your guests face when you whip out your wine ice cream to serve, you domestic diva you!!
Makes about 1 pint.
Enjoy!
